WhatsApp finally Says Hello Darkness
After months of beta testing on both mobile operating systems, WhatsApp launched a new dark mode theme feature on iOS and Android phones which is darker grey for Android and purely black for iPhone app. WhatsApp dark mode feature is gradually rolled out for all of its 2 billion users globally.
As per Facebook
“Dark mode for WhatsApp offers a fresh look on a familiar experience. It’s designed to reduce eye strain in low light environments. And we hope it helps prevent those awkward moments when your phone lights up the room.”
How to Enable WhatsApp Dark Mode Feature
If your Android OS is 10 or iOS 13 means, this feature is activated on WhatsApp automatically and switch to the dark theme. If you’re an Android 9 OS user, then simply you can go to the WhatsApp settings menu and enable the dark theme manually. Incase if dark mode not working, update the latest version of WhatsApp and follow the below steps to activate Dark Mode Theme.
- Go to WhatsApp Settings Option
- Click on Chats
- In Chats, you will Theme under Display
- Now Choose Dark Theme to enable it
Apart from this Dark Theme WhatsApp previously had two different themes such as
Light theme: it’s the usual white color theme that we have been always used in these many years.
Set by Battery Saver: This feature is available on Android 9 and lower OS version phones. The setting allows you to automatically switch to light or dark theme based on your Battery Saver settings.
There so many benefits of using the Dark Mode feature. It will helpful for so many of us to check our phones in bed before sleeping on low light which doesn’t affect our eyes directly. Research says that since 1985, the adults are getting less than six hours of sleep per night which is increased by 31%.
According to the latest report, the Facebook-owned social messaging app, testing a new security feature that will allow users to protect their messages and media backups on Google Drive through a password. Users can access the feature by enabling ‘Password Protect Backups’ in the ‘Chat Backup’ section in WhatsApp settings. This option is available only to users who have updated the beta version.
