Reddit gives you the option to “deactivate” your account and this deactivation is permanent, so there is no way to get back your Reddit profile after deactivation. After you deactivate (delete) your account, your profile will be permanently removed from the Reddit network, and your username will get removed from Reddit as well. However, your submitted posts, comments, links, and your created subreddits will remain on the website. Your username and profile won’t be longer present on Reddit, while previously made posts are there but it shows you as ‘Deleted Account’. As Reddit puts it, they become “unattributed,” and no one knows who posted them. Messages you’ve sent will become unattributed, too.
How To Delete Reddit Account
- Log in to your Reddit account on your desktop or mobile browser
- Go to Reddit Profile and Click User Settings
- At the bottom, Click the Red ‘Deactivate Account’ link
- Now Reddit will ask reason to delete the account (it’s optional)
- Enter your username and password.
- Click “I understand that deactivated accounts are not recoverable”
- Enter the Deactivate button and the pop-up will ask you for confirmation one last time.
- Click “Deactivate” if you’re sure that you want to deactivate your Reddit account.
That’s all your Reddit account will be deleted permanently and it can’t be reactivated again.

How to Delete Reddit Account on Mobile App
If you use the Reddit app on your iOS or Android mobile, follow the below steps and delete the Reddit account from app.
- Launch the Reddit app on your phone.
- Click your profile icon on the left corner
- Tap on Settings.
- Scroll down and click Help Center.
- Now you will be redirected to the Reddit support/help page.
- On the search, type “ Deactivate My Account” and enter.
- Choose, How do I deactivate my account?
- Scroll down and tap on the Deactivate link.
- It will redirect you to the old Reddit login page.
- Enter your username and password to log in.
- You have now reached the Reddit account deactivation page.
- choose a reason why you are deleting your Reddit account (Optional).
- Re-enter your Username & Password.
- Tick the confirmation box and Tap on Deactivate Account.
- You will see a confirmation notification ”your account has been deactivated”.
If you’re a Reddit premium subscriber, you should cancel your subscription plan and then proceed to delete the Reddit account.
How To Cancel Reddit Premium Subscription?
If you are a Reddit Premium member, simply deactivating your account will not cancel your subscription plans, so make sure to follow these steps to delete your Reddit premium account completely.
If you purchased a Reddit subscription by using an Apple ID, go to the Manage Subscriptions on the Apple App Store, select Reddit Premium from the list of subscriptions and cancel it. Or, you can do this from your device’s Account Settings.
If you purchased the Reddit subscription using Google Play, go to the Subscriptions section of the Google Play store app and select Reddit Premium from the list of subscriptions to cancel it.
If you purchased your subscription with Paypal, log in to your Paypal account and go to the Payments section. Under Payment Settings, select, Preapproved Payments. Select Reddit Premium from the list of subscriptions and cancel it.
For a subscription purchased using a credit card, log in to reddit.com and cancel your subscription from the Reddit Premium section of User Settings.

How Do I Reactivate Reddit Account?
You can’t reactivate your Reddit profile once you make a deactivation request.
