What is Fleets on Twitter

Twitter recently launched a new feature called Fleets which is similar to Instagram Stories where tweets automatically disappeared after 24 hours. Users can only see fleets, there is no option to give Likes, Retweets, or replies to these tweets. After testing various countries fleets now available globally for Twitter users that “Fleets helped people feel more comfortable joining the conversation,” leading people to “talk more” on its platform, “sharing personal and casual thoughts, opinions, and feelings.” This new feature helps users to express their thoughts freely that are only available for followers.  

Twitter Fleets currently available only on android and iOS phones. So you can’t use the Twitter fleet feature on a desktop browser. If you thinking about how to download fleets, official Twitter does not provide an option to do that but you can download others’ fleets on android or ios devices by using third-party apps.

Fleets Features

By using “Fleet” users can do lots of things such as text, reactions to Tweets, photos, or videos and can customize their Fleets with backgrounds and text. To get fleet tweets all you have to do to just share a Tweet in a Fleet by tapping the “Share” icon at the bottom of the Tweet and tap on “Share in Fleet.” Then you can add text and emojis, stickers, and soon live broadcasts will also be available for all Twitter users.

How to Get Fleets Twitter Feature on Phone

So if you want to know how to get and use Twitter fleets on your phone, follow the below step by step guide. 

Step 1. Get the latest version of the Twitter App from respective app stores.

Step 2.  Click your profile and tap your display picture just like you do for Instagram Stories.

Step 3. A new page will appear with the message “Share a fleeting thought…”, there you type your thoughts or message you want to share with your followers.

Step 4. On this fleet page, you can also add photos and GIFs to engage and attract your followers.

Step 5. Now tap on the Fleet button to post it.

How to View Others Fleets

To view the Fleets of a particular person, 

  • Click on the user’s Twitter profile photo-icon to see the latest fleets.
  • Scroll upwards to check more Fleets from his account, if he has shared multiple thoughts in a particular day.
  • Swipe right and left to see other accounts fleets that you follow.

How to Delete Fleet Posts

  • Tap on your profile photo and swipe up to see your old fleets.
  • Click on ‘…’ after the fleet text
  • Then select the Delete Fleet option from the pop-up menu.
