WhatsApp Will Stop Working On 1st January 2021 for These Android and iPhones

The Facebook-owned world’s most used messaging app WhatsApp which has two billion users worldwide, will not work from Jan 1st, 2021 for certain users. Every year-end, WhatsApp ends support for older iOS and Android smartphones. So that 2020 beginning, WhatsApp stopped working on Android 2.3.7 operating system and lower version devices as well as iPhones running on iOS 8 and lower.

This year WhatsApp messenger got many anticipated features such as the Dark Mode feature, Payments, Disappearing Messages option, WhatsApp Business app enhancements, and more.

WhatsApp Not Working

Recently WhatsApp has announced that they are stopping support for certain older devices that are currently compatible with the messaging app. Users of some iPhone and Android models will need to upgrade to send ‘Happy New Year’ messages after midnight.

The WhatsApp messenger app will no longer be supported by certain mobile models that are not running Android 4.0.3 or older version operating systems and iOS 9 from January 2021. Not a lot of phones and tabs currently run on an Android version earlier than 4.0.3. However, some of the models are the Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr, and few other mobiles.

If you have iPhone models such as iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S, all you have to do is update your software to iOS 9 to get an uninterrupted WhatsApp service.
